An investigation into various ethical problems and concerns which arise in the health sciences, especially medicine, but also in biology, psychology, social work and some other professions, considered both concretely and in relation to general ethical theory. Among the problems are abortion, death and euthanasia, genetic engineering, behaviour modification, treatment of the insane, right to treatment, experimentation on human beings and animals, and the relationship between professionals and their patients, subjects or clients.
